CDN - Content Distribution Networks (also referred as Content Delivery Network) is an infrastructure (can be a subset of Cloud Computing technology) which enables sharing primarily Internet resources (such as web-pages, files, A/V streams, etc) at various points via chaching and so on to the nearest CDN sharing servers which are deployed across multiple regioins. A user instead of accessing the primary source website via the primary webserver (or multiple cluster of webservers) will get transparently mapped across these CDN nodes.

CDN is a great strategy to tackle any kind of network load (mostly in Internet), provide high-performance page download rates irrespective of number of users accessing the same website simultaneously.
CDN Technologies (and CDN service providers) uses many open-source and proprietary (third-party and home-built) components to build their infrastructure. Sometimes as a part of CDN optimization, the service providers also provide custom optimized routed pathes, DNS mapping, also may use P2P based technologies and so on.

Doublefish Solutions - CDN School
A CDN which stands for content delivery network or content distribution network is a network of computers at various nodes of a network (mostly it is Internet) containing redundant copies of data/files stored.
CDN School is a platform which educates and illustrates generic CDN Networks and CDN Technology.
CDN is a vast and very exciting technology. But often it was struck with the main problem of lack of awareness, lack of enough information, and knowledge sharing. This makes only hand full of few people really know what CDN is all about. Even if there is a networking and systems administrator, currently only 20-30% of these people know what really is CDN service.
Hence, CDN School, focusses spreading this awareness, and a great knowledge sharing platform to focus every aspect of CDN technology and so called the big picture of it.
