CDN - Reti di distribuzione dei contenuti (anche detti Content Delivery Network) è una infrastruttura (può essere un sottoinsieme della tecnologia Cloud Computing), che consente di condividere le risorse in primo luogo Internet (ad esempio pagine web, file, A / V flussi, ecc) in vari punti tramite chaching e così via ai server CDN più vicino condivisione che vengono distribuiti attraverso regioins multipli. Un utente, invece di accedere al sito principale sorgente tramite il server web principale (o un cluster di server web più) avranno modo trasparente mappati attraverso questi nodi CDN.

CDN è una grande strategia per affrontare qualsiasi tipo di carico di rete (principalmente in Internet), forniscono prestazioni elevate velocità di download pagina indipendentemente dal numero di utenti che accedono al sito stesso contemporaneamente.
Tecnologie CDN (CDN e fornitori di servizi) utilizza molti open-source e proprietarie (terze parti e costruita in casa) i componenti per costruire le loro infrastrutture. A volte, come una parte del CDN di ottimizzazione, i fornitori di servizi forniscono anche personalizzati sentieri ottimizzato indirizzati, mappatura DNS, può anche utilizzare tecnologie basate P2P e così via.
