Lossless Compression Analysis

Traffic Squeezer eventually needs a best compression technology to achieve the best possible Traffic Acceleration. So a detailed comprehensive analysis have been carried out with some of the lossless compression technologies. Again for this purpose Basic Compression Library have been used to carry out the analysis.

Once again the Traffic Squeezer team encourages people who had worked or interested in compression technologies to find more innovative solutions w.r.t the current context. Share their innovations which rules out the current compression ratios and can achieve remarkable ratios, breaks the current conventions or limitations in this technology, or a completely new approach which can do further compression on a pre-compressed data too.

If the data is pre-compressed then Traffic Squeezer might not provide a good compression ratio. But with the inclusion of packet-coalition and a better strategic compression technology in this special use-case, this limitation can be ruled out. The Compression Advantage of various file formats versus various lossless compression techniques have been thoroughly tested to find the best solution for the respective use-case. As told earlier the Traffic Squeezer gives a control plane platform to the users to plug-in any of the lossless compression technology (or technologies) to achieve the best possible data compression. Again the Traffic Squeezer insists that the packet/frame processing can be either per-packet/per-frame or could be a Coalescing-Compression based hybrid solution well suited for the use-case.

The current analysis doesn't address much about scenarios such as multiple compressions. But it is very much possible to highly compress a pre-compressed data with another much different algorithm. Moreover if this whole thing happens in the hardware, the latency involved for the same is negligible. But still a lot of study has to be carried out on this aspect. One has to keep in mind that there is no end for innovations and there is no end for people's future requirements.
